week 2

challenge at Ittybitty has just been concluded. The page requirements were:
4 photos on a 1-page LO
Rub-ons
Bling
At least 3 different patterned papers
Ribbon in a creative way

Here's what I worked on like crazy last Wednesday evening ;)

None too happy with that rub on peeking out from the top. HAHA! I originally intended for it to somehow line up with the first photo but for some reason, I couldn't angle all the other photos along with it. So.... I was stuck and just did what I had to do. Blah blah blah. Never mind! ;)

Here's my take on the ribbon challenge. Got the idea from Martha Bonneau

DDD challenge 4

Time for fun over at Bad Girls! This time around, it's a spelling challenge and the word is: BAD GIRLS. Each letter of the word is used to represent products, techniques, colours, whatever, to create a page! Here's what I came up with during the SE mini crop last Saturday:

B - buttons
A - Autumn Leaves paper
D - distressing technique
G - gold star
I - inking technique
R - rub ons
L - lace cardstock (uhm, i couldn't think of what to use anymore, haha!)
S - stickers

all supplies, except for the bit of lace cardstock, from the Studio Azul December kit.

Saturday Mini Crop

HAHA! that 'mini' in the title is kind of like an overstatement! Only a few SE girls (myself included) were able to work on some pages; I think the mini crop at at Nette's (MLA/Scrapbooks Hawaii) was more like an excuse to shop!!! HAHAHA!!! Girls spent most of the day milling around the scrappy stuff on display. Lots of bargain finds! Got myself a set of FP 12x12 stamps at 40% off! Gotta love that! I picked up a few things here and there as well. Oh, but it was a fun opportunity to see and chat with some friends! Oh and YAY! I won a set of Inque Boutique stamps which Nette raffled off!! Yum!

Thanks to Cabbie, Donna, and Candy, for the wonderful demos! Here I snapped up a photo from Cabbie's blog (because I can see myself behind her! HAHA!)

my self-declared V-day gift!

I have been considering getting myself a photo printer for the longest time now, as I've been fed up with the quality of prints I've been getting from both my HP printers. Naturally, I gravitated towards an Epson brand this around all thanks to the positive feedback i've been getting, but I have obviously not been too keen enough, until now! ;) OK, Cabbie's post just pushed me over the edge! I decided it's finally time to get it. All of last week, I went and scoured all the shops at Town and at the Southmall, but I simply could not find the printer in stock! Dang, dang, dang! I kept getting the same answer: they'd have to special order it for me and it would take anywhere from 3 - 7 days to get it, that is if their supplier had it in stock! But..... I wanted that printer now!!!

Earlier this evening, I finally asked Cabbie where her DH was able to score one. Ding, ding, ding!!! Octagon in Megamall, hmm? Since Tubbyboy was somewhere in the vicinity of Makati, I had the crazy idea of actually asking him to go and get me one. OK maybe that was not such a hot idea. I don't think he'd relish driving through traffic just to get me a printer he doesn't want me to be buying anyways. So, my next plan was to call the store and ask if they would so kindly ship the printer to their branch in Southmall. My patience was so sorely tested just trying to get a number for Octagon. In the end, I succeeded! So I dial the correct number only to be crest-fallen as they didn't have it in stock anymore! Boohoo! I call the MOA branch, no luck! My last resort was to call their branch in Festival. Oh, I got lucky!!! They had it! I had it reserved but was told that I had to get it tonight! Time check: 8PM! Cool! Plenty of time to change and get there! And now.... it's finally sitting pretty in my room. I just did a test print and guess who's smiling like a cheshire cat now? ;D

challenges galore

Since I've resolved to create more this year, I've decided to join several challenges to keep my scrap motivation going! =D

last weekend, my friend, babette, dropped by so we could 'play'! and she was able to work on some cards and tags. I, on the other hand, was not able to get anything done at all! i just couldn't get my papers together! ack! good thing i was already able to work on a my pages for coordinates collections' Scrapping with the Stars 1st challenge.

we were to derive inspiration from Ali Edwards and
Mahlin Andersson, one of Coordinates Collections' DT members.

Hmmm... this round really had me thinking, haha! I waited until the last minute and finally came up with these:

supplies: bazzill cs, scenic route paper, 7G gaffer tape and stickers, stamps (fontwerks, everyday beauty, stamped in ink), ink pads (Versafine and Colorbox), staples, zig pen

supplies: (from Scarlet Lime's January kit) scenic route and Ki memories papers, ki memories sticker, felt butterfly, buttons; (from my stash) hs flower, autumn leaves chipboard journaling spot, AC thickers chipboard alpha stickers, zig and sharpie pens

This morning, I came upon Suzanne's YITL card challenges. It practically just started and right now, it's still fairly easy to catch up! I decided to take the plunge! What a great way to use up some stash and lessen my piles of photos, even! *wink!*

Here's what I have so far
YITL 1 - resolve

YITL 2 - winter

YITL 3 - blue

YITL 4 - proud

YITL 5 - red

YITL 6 - love
